Late one afternoon, David rose from his couch andstrolled on the roof of the royal palace; and from the roof he saw a woman bathing. The woman was very beautiful, and theking sent someone tomade inquiries about the woman. He reported, She is Bathsheba daughter of Eliam and wife of Uriah the Hittite: Samuel-11,2-3
ויהי אחרי-כן ולאבשלום בן-דוד אחות יפה ושמה תמר ויאהבה אמנון בן-דוד: ויצר לאמנון להחלות בעבור תמר אחתו כי בתולה היא.

This happened sometime afterward: Absalom son of David had a beautiful sister named Tamar, and Amnon son of David became infatuated with her. Amnon was so distraught because of his half-sister Tamar that he became sick; for she was a virgin. Samue l13,1-2
ויקרא אבשלום לפני עבדי דוד ואבשלום רכב על-הפרד ויבא הפרד תחת שובך האלה הגדולה ויחזק ראשו באלה ויתן בין השמים ובין הארץ והפרד אשר- תחתיו עבר: וירא איש אחד ויגד ליואב ויאמר הנה ראיתי את-אבשלום תלוי באלה: שמואל ב יח, ט- י
Absalom encountered some of David's followers. Absalom was riding on a mule, and as the mule passed under the tangled branches of a great terebinth, his hair got caught in the terebinth; he was held between heaven and earth as the mule under him kept going. One of the men saw it and told Joab," I have just seen Absalom hanging from a terebinth." Samuel 18, 9-10
והמלך דוד זקן בא בימים ויכסהו בבגדים ולא יחםלו : ויאמרו לו עבדיו יבקשו לאדני המלך נערה בתולה ועמדה לפני המלך ותהי-לו סכנת ושכבה בחיקך וחם לאדני המלך: מלכים א א, א-ב
King David was now old, advanced in years; and though they covered him with bedclothes, he never felt warm. His courtiers said to him," Let a young virgin be sought for my lord the king to wait upon Your Majesty and be his attendant: and let her lie in your bosom, and my lord the king will be warm." 1Kings 1- 1-2
ותבא בת-שבע אל-המלך החדרה והמלך זקןמאוד ואבישג השונמית משרת את-המלך: ותקדבת-שבע ותשתחו למלך ויאמר המלך מה-לך: מלכים א א, טו-טז
So Bathsheba went to the king in his chamber.-The king was very old, and Abishag the Shunammite was waiting on the king.-Bathsheba bowed low in homage to the king; and the king asked,"What troubles you?" I Kings1,15-16
ויתן אלהים חכמה לשלמה ותבונה הרבה מאד ורחב לב כחול אשר על-שפת הים: ותרב חכמת שלמה מחכמת כל-בני-קדם. מלכים א ה, ט-י
The LORD endowed Solomon with wisdom and discernment in great measure, with understanding as vast as the sands on the seashore. Solomon's wisdom was greater than the wisdom of al theKedemites and than all the wisdom of the Egyptian: IKings1,5,9-10
ומלכת-שבא שמעת את-שמע שלמה לשם יהוה ותבא לנסתו בחידות: ותבא ירושלימה בחיל כבד מאד גמלים נשאים בשמים וזהב רב-מאד ואבן יקרה ותבאאל-שלמה ותדבר אליו את כל אשר היה עם לבבה: מלכים א י, א-ב
The queen of Sheba heard of Solomon's fame, through the name of the LORD, and she came to test him with hard questions. She arrived in Jerusalem with a very large retinue, with camels bearing spices, a great quantity of gold, and precious stones. When she came to Solomon,she asked him all that she had in mind: IKing10,1-2
ויהי בהעלות יהוה את אליהו בסערה השמים וילך אליהו ואלישע מן- הגלגל: ויאמר אליהו אל אלישע שב-נא פה כי יהוה שלחני עד-בית-אל ויאמר אלישעחי-יהוה וחי-נפשך אם-אעזבך. מלכים ב ב, א-ב
When the LORD was about to take Elijah up to heaven in a whirlwind, Elijah and Elisha had set out from Gilgal. Elijah said to Elisha, " Stay here, for the LORD has sent me on to Bethel." As the LORD lives and as you live, "said Elisha, "I will not leave you." II Kings2, 1-2
