ABOUT THE FARM
.Samson Farm is nestled on the slopes of the Judean Hills
The farm was established in 1983 by Hezekiah Amir and Yael Dromi, a young couple who returned to israel after a long journey around the world in search of a place to build an organic agricultural farm and create a simple life connected to the land and to their roots
Upon returning to Israel with their two-year-old son, they began the bureaucratic process and continued their long search for the right location
The ancient stone ruin in the wadi near Moshav Kfar Uriya was suggested as the ideal site, on the condition that a herd of goats and sheep be included as a living presence helping protect and maintain the surrounding grazing areas through daily movement and positive human activity
In time, the place was named Shimshon Farm, after the biblical Samson who lived in this very region, “between Zorah and Eshtaol.” A site traditionally identified as his burial place lies in the nearby forest
Over many years, through dedicated manual labor and nightly watches to prevent theft, the stone buildings and agricultural terraces were gradually restored
The ancient well—destroyed during Israel’s War of Independence—was re-excavated, and fresh water still flows from it today for the farm’s use
Olive trees and a variety of fruit trees were planted, herbs took root, and the ancient terraces were once again cultivated
A lively herd of goats now roams the hills, enjoying the rich and diverse vegetation of the surrounding landscape
Hezekiah and Yael raised their seven children on the farm and have devoted much of their lives and energy to its growth
Today, the farm hosts educational and agricultural activities that combine traditional methods and crafts, offering visitors a meaningful and authentic connection to the land
