Training camp - Tirenia, Italy , July 9-19 2008

In this training camp 33 gymnasts participated between the ages of 10 to 12 from 21 different countries across Europe like: Russia, Spain, Romania, Netherlands and more.

Israel represented by 2 gymnasts, Hapoel Tel Aviv's Noam Winograd, the 2008 level B Israel champion and Raanana's Einav Kesner, the 2008 level C Israel champion.

The girls traveled along with their personal coaches, Maya Shani from Hapoel Tel Aviv and Michel Kostrinski from Raanana.

This camp is organized for the 10^th year in a row by Orna Shai from Israel, the UEG representative in collaboration of Monsi Obia from Spain and Donatella Sachi from Italy, the FIG representative.

The Tirenia training camp is unique because the participants are gymnastics specialists from all across Europe and in each apparatus there is a specialist coach, ballet teacher and a choreographer.

During the training camp, the specialists give lectures to the coaches and give practice to the gymnasts, ballet and choreography classes and new flexibility and fitness exercises.

 

During their free time the girls traveled to Florence and Pisa went to the beach and amusement park.

In the end of the training camp there was a performance by the gymnasts and coaches and a summarizing dinner.

Noam Winograd on her experiences form the training camp:

"Every day we had practice in the morning and in the afternoon we had an hour and a half of choreography and then go to the beach or in the morning choreography and then we went to the beach and in the afternoon we had practice.

 

One day we had practice with our personal coaches and the next day we had practice with the specialists in each apparatus- Donatella on vault, Josef on bars, Joja on beam and Georgo on floor and we worked with them on different techniques and basic elements.

Besides all the training we went to other places-

On Saturday night, July 12, we went to an amusement park, went on rides, played in booth and won puppets.

On Tuesday, July 15, we went to Florence where we were in the market, purchased presents and it was fun.

 

On Thursday, July 17, we went to see the Pisa tower, purchased more presents and we had lots of fun.

 

I'm very happy I participated in this training camp.

I had a great experience and I hope I'll get to go to more training camps and competitions abroad".
